This credo of our local Eugene, Oregon recycling company is one we whole-heartedly endorse. That’s why we conscientiously recycle everything we can, from wood scraps and sawdust to foam pieces and office supplies. Many of these items are transformed into useful products like particleboard, carpet padding and fresh reams of paper. We invested over in a state-of-the-art computerized router. This precision tool allows us to optimize the layout before cutting so that almost every piece of plywood yields a needed part. This has produced a significant gain in yield efficiency while producing parts with extraordinary precision. Making full use of our natural resources is our way of showing respect for all that we have been given. It is a part of our pre-cycling commitment. Your Custom Craftworks Product is often packaged for safe shipment to you in a recycled box when possible and using recycled and recovered packaging and filler materials. We continue to work diligently to improve our environmental impact. We pledge to continue this work and to provide you with products that you can be proud of and support in your own personal efforts to buy in a sustainable manner. For example, our foam systems feature Earth-Cell™ which is flexible bio-based foam that is an alternative to petroleum based polyurethane foams. We have worked closely with our raw material suppliers, as we know it is important to our customers to have a “green” foam. Using earth-friendly foams gives our customers the performance they expect, but without adding cost. With Earth-Cell™ , we can provide earth-friendly products whose performance characteristics are superior to other foams due to improved cell integrity. Earth-Cell™ foams are made of a renewable based bio-polyols. This reduces our dependency on fossil fuels, reduces energy demand and creates a smaller environmental footprint. In addition, these hybrid foams are manufactured without harmful CFCs, and they do not use alternative blowing agents. This allows us to incorporate bio-renewable polyols, such as soy into the foam on our tables. How much of an impact can this make? For every one million pounds of petroleum-based polyols replaced with bio-based polyols, 2,200 barrels of crude oil are saved. In addition, the use of soy and other renewable products also helps the US farmer. Renew  The practice of sustainable-yield forestry is one reason beautiful birch forests continue to be home to 100 species of butterflies. Custom Craftworks uses ecologically sound plywood made from the cleanest materials. This leaves a small enough footprint that future generations can enjoy the forests.

The luminous finish on our eastern hard-rock maple is achieved through use of a water-based lacquer specially formulated for Custom Craftworks. Our kiln-dried poplar perfectly suits our table frame, the most stable and flex-resistant table top on the market.
